The Cubs beat the Montreal Expos 4 to 3 at Wrigley Field. On this 61 degree day, 32,909 fans saw Cubs’ pitcher Kevin Foster triumph over Butch Henry. Randy Myers picked up the save for the Cubs. Slugger Sammy Sosa launched a two-run home run in the first inning to put the Cubs’ up for good. Future Cubs Rondell White and Shane Andrews both homered for the Expos. Despite the two teams combining for 17 hits and using nine pitchers, the game took only two hours and sixteen minutes.
