Cubs Calendar: July 15, 2008

The National League lost 4-3 to the American League in fifteen innings in the 79th All-Star game, which was played at Yankee Stadium. Unfortunately for the National League, Atlanta Braves’ representative Dan Uggla committed three errors and both struck out and grounded into a double play in crucial situations during his 0-4 offensive performance. The Cubs were represented in the game by a team-record eight players, including Ryan Dempster, Kosuke Fukudome, Carlos Marmol, Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano, Geovany Soto, Carlos Zambrano, and Kerry Wood. Soto was the first ever rookie catcher to start an All-Star game.
